Explore Seattle

Pike Place Market
This charming market in downtown Seattle is most famous for the flying fish shop, where employees throw fresh fish over customers' heads. You'll also find stands featuring fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers and herbs. Independently owned shops specializing in crafts and souvenirs abound at Pike Place Market. No trip to Seattle is complete without a trip to Seattle's premier market! You can see images of Pike Place Market in the film, "Sleepless in Seattle" with Tom Hanks.

The Space Needle
Originally built for the 1962 World Expo, the Space Needle has become the most recognizable symbol of Seattle's skyline. Visitors get a 360 degree view of the Emerald City and beyond. The top of the Space Needle features a rotating restaurant, viewing deck and souvenir shop.

Experience Music Project (EMP)
The history of rock and roll, with particular emphasis on the Pacific Northwest, is on display at the Experience Music Project. Visitors can also learn to play different instruments in the EMP's Sound Lab, or just have fun jamming. The unique building was designed to look like a broken guitar by architect Frank Gehry. Music lovers rejoice at the 80,000 rare music artifacts that are showcased at the EMP. Whatever your taste in music you will surely find something that captures your attention at the Experience Music Project.

Chinatown - International District
Although the name is Chinatown, people from all over the world live in this Seattle neighborhood. Chinese, Japanese, Filipinos, African Americans, Vietnamese, Koreans and Cambodians who have settled there made it necessary to change the name to Chinatown International District. If you ever feel homesick for Mom's cooking, you'll be able to find the ingredients at shops like Uwajimaya.

Mount Rainier National Park
The slopes of Mount Rainier offer plenty of hiking and mountain or rock climbing for nature lovers. The magnificent views and incredible scenery make Mount Rainier the picturesque tourist attraction.

Safeco Field
Located just south of downtown Seattle, Safeco Field is home to the Seattle Mariners baseball team. This new stadium features a retractable roof that opens to let sunshine in and closes to keep the rain out. Seating close to 47,000 people, Safeco Field and the Seattle Mariners keep fans comfortable and entertained.

CenturyLink Field
The World Champion Seattle Seahawks American football team  and Seattle Sounders soccer team play at the newest stadium in Seattle, CenturyLink Field.

Key Arena
Key Arena is an all-purpose facility that hosts everything from professional basketball teams and music's hottest stars to family ice shows and wrestling. The Seattle Storm, and Thunderbirds play at Key Arena throughout the year. Music fans can enjoy concerts by artists such as Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Celine Dion, Elton John, Garth Brooks and The Rolling Stones. There is always something happening at Key Arena!
